Concrete Driveways

If you are looking to increase the curb appeal and value of your home, your concrete driveway is a great place to start.

Driveways are typically not something homeowners think about until they are in need of repair, but your driveway is the first thing any visitor sees when coming to your home and it can be upgraded at any time for a reasonable cost.

Concrete driveways are highly durable. A properly installed concrete driveway can last up to 50 years. On average, a concrete driveway has a service life that is about 60 percent longer as compared to asphalt.

Our concrete driveways are built to last. When you choose the best concrete driveway contractor in Pittsburgh, you can be assured the project was done right.

Walkways and Steps

A new walkway can be an amazing touch to just about any home.

Your sidewalk is usually the first surface anyone walks on when approaching your home or business. We take pride in making all sidewalks unique and well constructed. Concrete sidewalks come in all shapes, sizes, and finishes.

Cracked or uneven sidewalks / walkways or stairs, can be extremely dangerous. Replacing old sidewalks and stairs keeps people safe on your property.

When you choose DelBianco Concrete to complete your new concrete sidewalks or walkways we’ll take care of breaking up and removing all old concrete and we’ll also haul it away for you. Ground preparation work is very important. We pay meticulous attention to detail because we want our work to look great and last a very long time.

Concrete Patios

Is a patio the perfect finishing piece for your landscape? Patios are beautiful hardscaping pieces that can really add charm to your home.

A new patio can significantly expand your outdoor living space in Pittsburgh. Whether you like to entertain or want to have a quiet outdoor area to read and relax, we can help.

Concrete patios have a huge advantage over other surface choices for your outdoor living area. A concrete patio can be designed in any shape to meet your desires.

Enjoy the great outdoors by getting a patio constructed by DelBianco Concrete. We’re ready to provide you with a design that will look amazing for your property.

Concrete FAQs

Can a concrete driveway and sidewalk be repaired?

Normally, concrete is replaced rather than repaired. Replacement lasts longer and does its job better. Depending on the age, size and degree of damage, however, repairs may be possible. In many cases, an area of a concrete surface can be removed and replaced.

When should concrete be installed?

Mild or warm weather is the best time to install concrete. Temperatures should not drop below 35 degrees for at least 30 days after installation, and concrete should not be installed in extremely hot weather.

How soon can I use my new concrete driveway?

While you can walk on your new concrete after just a couple of days, as a general rule, cars and other vehicles should stay off new concrete for a week.

How long will my project driveway take to build?

That depends on the size, and complexity of your project. Typical concrete projects for residential use normally take 1-3 days of actual work. Curing time adds to the time required before new concrete can be used.

Is concrete sealing necessary?

Proper sealing of concrete is extremely important. After the initial curing of concrete, which can take 30 days, a penetrating sealer should be applied to protect the concrete from salt and other contaminants. This sealing should be repeated every 3 years  using a high-quality concrete sealer.

Can I use salt to melt snow and ice?

No. Use sand only. Salt can damage the sealer used on your concrete. You can remove snow with a plastic shovel (not metal), broom or snow blower.

How much will it cost?

Our jobs are estimated and based on many factors including the size (footage), style, preparation of the site, removal of objects, and installation time. Just like any other construction job, we can provide you with a free estimate for your project. Contact us anytime to setup an appointment.

Why Concrete?

Concrete is one of the most versatile and strongest construction materials available.

If properly installed, concrete does not develop potholes that people can trip over. Concrete gets stronger over time. The longer the concrete stays on the driveway the stronger it gets structurally.

Curb appeal has always been vital to homeowners because it is the first thing people see when they are driving by your home or coming to visit you for the first time. We understand you are proud of your home, and when you step up the curb appeal of your home, it can increase your overall investment.

Concrete as a driveway, sidewalk, patio or walkway material is a great idea for a number of reasons.

Z

Easy to Maintain

Maintenance will merely involve brushing or washing off dirt using a hose and trimming the grass off the edges of the paved areas.

Z

Price

Concrete is a cost effective alternative to other paving materials. Tile, brick and stone pavers can be quite expensive. They are mainly used because of their attractive appearance. Concrete can be designed to imitate the appearance of these materials at a much more inexpensive cost and offering long lasting service compared to these.

Z

Eco-Friendly

Concrete consists of water, sand, gravel and cement. Water, sand and gravel naturally exist in our environment. If you are concerned about your impact on the environment, you can choose concrete driveways over asphalt. It takes more energy to make asphalt than it does to make concrete.

Z

Strength and Longevity

Concrete is among the strongest choices for residential paving projects. It can handle heavy loads without issue and won’t mind if you have to park the RV on it for several months. A professionally laid concrete driveway can last upwards of forty to fifty years if properly maintained.

Z

Property Value

The majority of prospective buyers prefer homes with concrete driveways. Homes with concrete driveways sell faster than those with driveways made with other construction materials.

Z

Appearance

Regardless of the landscape around your home, concrete driveways, sidewalks, patios or walkways are a sure fit. Enhancing your property with concrete is resourceful.
